A collection of climbing flowers to decorate a bare garden wall or archway, creating an attractive vertical display of beautiful blooms and floral scents throughout the whole summer and into autumn.

Passion Flower
SOW INDOORS from February to May, ideally in a propagator. Seedlings like the warmth and moisture, an ideal plant to start off in a warm greenhouse or conservatory windowsill. Sow one seed per pot, or space out to 10cm and plant 1cm deep. Germination can take up to 6 weeks, when seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into larger pots. Strong plants can be transplanted outdoors in a sheltered position from mid-June when the ground is warmer and there is no chance of frost. Climbing plants will be in full bloom from June to October.
Height 300cm. Spread: 60cm.

Sweet Pea Scented Mix
Ideally soak seeds overnight to activate germination. SOW INDOORS: from January to May into warm, moist seed compost spaced out 3cm apart and 1cm deep. Place in a warm environment to activate germination, which can take 10-21 days. Transplant outdoors from April to June when the ground is warmer, spacing to 20cm.
SOW OUTDOORS: (alternatively) from April to May when the ground is warmer, into finely raked, moist compost. Remove growing tips after 3 pairs of leaves have developed and remove spent flowers for best results. Flowers from June to September.
Height 200cm. Spread: 20cm.

Further Information

Most climbers need support to which their new growth can cling or twine around.
Support types

Wigwam Support
A wigwam frame is great when growing climbers in pots or for creating structured areas in the garden. The size of the framework is down to you but the wigwam will need at least 3 or more garden canes. Space the canes out evenly in the chosen growing area ensuring they are pushed down deep enough to prevent movement. Gather the canes at the top and secure with garden twine. Netting can be attached to the canes to create extra support for the plants stems as they grow but this is not always needed.

Wall Support
Wall supports are fantastic for creating extra growing space in a garden and covering unsightly buildings or walls. Simply select an area where you wish your climbers to grow, and attach the climbing netting provided.
